In my September In Review post, I briefly mentioned a “secret project” that I had been working on instead of Small Town Star. Over the course of this month, I’ve gotten more and more excited about it, so much so that I realized that keeping it a secret was no longer an option. I have to talk about it.
Why So Secretive?
As I’ve said before in a few posts, I’ve never finished a full story. I’ve presented many stories to this blog and my other one, claiming that I would finish them, and I never did. As it is, Small Town Star is rapidly losing my interest. I really hate letting people down. I hate hyping up a story that will never be finished.
I’m hoping this one is different.
At first, I was so stuck on Chapter One. I wanted to give up on the story altogether. But as I kept pushing on, I found a love for the under-developed characters. I couldn’t give up on their stories.
Since then, I’ve developed them more and more, and my plot is slowly clicking together. Now, since I’m about 50% of the way done with the first draft (!!!!!), I feel confident in sharing a bit about this new WIP.
Introducing Project Snow!
*dramatic angels singing*
Ahh, I can’t believe I’m saying this!!
Project Snow (not the official name, I’m still being secretive about the title because of marketing ideas 😜) is so exciting for me. I’m planning for it to be a novella, so it’s easier for me to reach my word goal. It’s got wintery vibes, enemies-to-friends, and grumpy x sunshine.
Kye, a moody thief, and Eleanor, a hopeful slave, are the two main characters.
And Reep the fox. Y’ALL THERES A FOX.
The idea was originally for a side-series of short stories that I would post on the blog just for fun when I ran out of ideas for Small Town Star. But Project Snow has developed into so much more! I wrote so much during our road trip, and it’s been hard keeping the momentum going, but I’m managing.
Mostly because of Reep. Did I mention the story has a FOX???!!
As I mentioned, I’m still on Draft One. So a lot is going to change in Draft Two. Hence why I don’t have a solid blurb yet.
I hope you all are as hyped as I am! This is going to be a fun one!
Have a blessed day!
