Oh, December. How the year has passed so quickly. It’s almost 2025 and it’s honestly kind of scary like how did it come this fast.

December was so chill and wonderful. The Lord really let me catch up with life this month. So what went down this month?

Life Updates

  • Decorated my room for Christmas! It’s been almost nine years since I’ve had my own room, and decorating was so much fun. I never knew Dollar Tree had so many amazing decorations!
  • Went to see Wicked with friends at the movie theater. The movie was fun but hanging out with friends was fun-er!
  • Drank far too many peppermint mocha frappes from Starbucks 🥴
  • Christmas!!
  • Went to see Christmas lights with family.
  • Had way too much fun with coworkers (who I now consider friends 🤪)
  • Got “promoted” (not really, I don’t get paid any more, but I consider it a promotion since it’s more fun) at work. I know get pony shifts, where I spend five hours working with the ponies! It’s honestly so much fun, though a bit lonely.

Writing

Small Town Star

No progress! I think I’m going to put this story on the back burner for now, so I can work on Project Snow.

Project Snow

…is now at 15,725 words! Like, literally how did that happen. My baby’s getting so big! 🥹

I kinda hit a writers block towards the end of the month, but I am determined to finish it by January 1st. Which means… I better get writing!!

Here’s a quote from Kye’s POV:

The steady crunch-crunch of footsteps in the snow interrupted my thoughts. Instinctively, my hand flew to the dagger in my belt. But subconsciously, I knew it was her. Maybe it was the length of the strides. Or how light and faint the footsteps were.

I emerged from the den and my suspicions were confirmed. Her hair was tied half up, and the remaining part flowed down past her chest and ended on her waist. She carried herself with a purpose, and when her eyes met mine, the honey in them had turned to a fire of determination. She smiled.

Reep yelped and bounded to meet her, his legs disappearing into the snow. She laughed and stopped to let him catch her. Bending down, she trailed delicate fingers over his head and body. He wagged his tail and parted his lips in a smile, revealing his razor-sharp teeth.

I have also started planning another story *hides*. But that’s a story for another post.

Reading

I think the only book I finished was Matched by Allie Condie. I didn’t like it for the first three-fourths. At. All. Nothing happened. The main character literally has no personality. BUT THEN it left on a cliffhanger AND NOW I HAVE to read the next one. Gosh dangit.

Music

I covered most of it in my post a few days ago. Recently, I’ve been listening to a lot of gio. (I love sos! and with me) and Chris Renzema (seriously, listen to Faith?! and Not Giving Up On You). My favorite song this month has probably been Turn out fine by Henrik. I love singing truck on fire by Carly Pearce and Beautiful As You by Thomas Rhett on my way to work.

For Next Month…

I think I’m going to take it slow. Probably read a lot, and hopefully I’ll start on edits for Project Snow. But otherwise, I’ll see where God leads me, you know?

Have a blessed day!
