What’s up, lovelies? It’s been a minute since we’ve chatted here! I sincerely apologize for neglecting this blog, but we’re going to ignore that for now. Happy July! Let’s check out what has happened since we last talked!

Life Updates

• BEAT MY BROTHER AND HIS TWO FRIENDS AT WII GOLF AND I HAVE NEVER BEEN PROUDER.
• went back to youth group for the first time since two years ago! It was honestly such an amazing experience and it reminded me of how fulfilling it is to go, I ended up going another time later in the month to one of their beach days, which was incredible!
• got way better at Spikeball 👌🏻
• went to the beach for the first time this summer! It was so much fun (as long as we ignore the fact that I was in my church clothes because I didn’t realize we were going and I got super sandy and a lot of weird looks because I was in jeans).
• took my sissy out to breakfast a few times ❤️
• went on a lot of impromptu adventures with my siblings, which were all hilariously exciting.
• GOT THE CUTEST COW PLUSHY FROM TRACTOR SUPPLY BUT NOW MY CAT DROPS IT ON MY HEAD IN THE MORNING TO WAKE ME UP.
• the reason why I haven’t blogged at all this month is because I was a councillor at an all girls Christian summer camp! It was one of the most fun experiences of my life (although it was super tiring), and I hope I can do it again in the future. I’ve gone to this camp since I was five, and it was such a full circle moment to be standing in my pink staff name tag 🥹
• went to an old car show!
• joined The Young Writers Workshop!

Writing

As I said in my life updates, I recently joined YWW (lovingly called YDubs). It’s an amazing community of young Christian writers, and I have been thoroughly enjoying chatting with new author friends! One of the lessons was about consistency, and how even writing 250 words a day for two months can build up the habit of writing. I took this to heart and wrote pretty consistently for the week before I started camp, but then I was too tired to keep it up for the rest of the month.

One of the things I struggled with was writers block with ASATSF. So, I pivoted and started working on a new idea that I had been thinking about for a while now (just for “funsies”). Turns out, it is such a fun project to work on, and now I’m enthralled 😍

I’ve been munching on that project (does that make sense? Maybe not) for the whole month, and I’m devoting July to brainstorming. It’s honestly so fun, and I thought I’d give you a few images that I’ve been checking out from Pinterest that match the mood of the novel!

Yeah… I didn’t read anything. I was in a reading slump for the whole month. Twas quite unfortunate.

For Next Month…

So I may be done with this summer camp, but now I’m moving on to be a councillor for another camp, so I probably won’t be able to post or read much July. However, I’m hoping to finish brainstorming my new project so I can start writing it in August!
