Wow, what a month!

And can I add: guys, it’s fall. Not my favorite season, but I love the cozy vibes. And the pumpkins!

Let’s take a look at what happened this month!

Writing

Small Town Star went through a lot of changes this month. I started September with a huge plot hole. Near the middle of the month, I found the solution, and it was a breath of fresh air. Also, Cassidy now has a personality! It was really discouraging writing with a dull main character. Now, I feel like I have most everything figured out and written down.

I set a goal to finish the manuscript by the end of December, but we’ll see how that goes. So far, I have 2,476 words! I finished the prologue and am about halfway through chapter one. It’s been a pretty productive month. I’ve fallen in love with writing again.

Reading

I finished two books this month (I know, I know, not a lot). The first was Hey, Jude Carpenter (you can read my review here). It was really cute and defiantly got me in the fall mood!

The next was Rise Of The Vicious Princess, which was SOOOOO good, it had me laying in bed reading hundreds of pages in one sitting! Honestly, I loved this book so much. Highly, highly recommend.

I’ve started Return of the Vengeful Queen, the sequel to Rise Of The Vicious Princess.

Music

I’ve seen many blogs writing about their music tastes, so I thought I’d jump on the train!

As far as country is concerned, I listened to a lot of Cody Johnson (LOVE his voice), mostly his album Leather. My favorites are Dirt Cheap, Work Boots, Double Down, That’s Texas, People In The Back, His Name Is Jesus, and Mamas Don’t Let Your Babies Grow Up To Be Cowboys.

For Christian, Forrest Frank is always a favorite. His song NEVER GET USED TO THIS with JVKE was definitely on repeat this month (mostly on my drive to work, a great way to wake up and start the day!). Also, MORE THAN A FEELING, SAFE AND SOUND, and SUNSHINE are super good as well. My favorite worship songs for September were Christ and Christ Crucified by Lindy Cofer, Circuit Rider Music, and Mitch Wong, Here I Am by JWLKRS Worship and Ashley Hess, and That’s Who I Praise by Brandon Lake.

For Next Month…

I am hoping to get lots more done in my novel. Hopefully finish through chapter ten. But we’ll see. Also, I’m hoping to nail down character development arcs and plot events.

Return Of The Vengeful Queen is next on the reading list, and I’m hoping to continue the reading streak and finish at least another two books this month.

Honestly, I’m looking forward to October being a month to slow down and enjoy life. LORD willing, it will be just that.

How was your September?
