Welcome to yet another tag! Thank you so much Hannah from Faith, Fiction, and Fairytales for tagging me! This is going to be a fun one!

The Rules

  1. Link to the original post.
  2. Credit the person who tagged you.
  3. Tag one 1-3 more bloggers.

And without further ado…

1. When do you consider the holiday season officially started?

After Halloween, and sometimes even before! Hot take, I know. I always start playing Christmas music in the beginning of November, and my grandma likes to turn on Hallmark while we cook. A few years back, I think I even decorated my room before Halloween. My sister was very mad 😂

You can be sure that my room will be absolutely decked out right after Thanksgiving.

2. What’s your favorite thing about winter?

Agh, how can I pick just one?!

Christmas, snow, the cold, that cozy feeling, all the peppermint treats, the decorations, memories, lights, and so much more!

3. What’s your least favorite thing about winter?

Probably how dry it gets. My lips are permanently chapped during this time of year.

4. What do you like to do in the snow?

Sled and snowboard! It never snows where I live (the closest we get is hail and frost), so I really enjoy going up in elevation to experience the snow!

5. What’s your favorite holiday tradition?

AHHH HOW CAN I CHOOSE???!!!! Maybe decorating the tree? Or opening the sibling gifts on Christmas Eve? I can’t pick!

6. How do you usually celebrate Thanksgiving?

My grandparents always host, and we always come over early to help cook/bake and set the table, etc. Then our aunts and uncles and cousins and other grandparents will come over and we’ll all enjoy a great meal together! For the past two years, we’ve been going over to our friends’ house afterwards to have desserts and play board games or watch a Christmas movie.

7. How do you usually celebrate Christmas?

Christmas morning, we light a fire and open stockings first, then gifts. We almost always have monkey bread for breakfast, and then we mostly just hang out for the rest of the day, or go to a friend’s house. It’s very chill.

Christmas with our grandparents is usually a day after, and we have so many fun games that we play for prizes, and it’s so fun to see all our family.

8. What’s your favorite type of pie?

Probably pumpkin! I’m not a huge pie fan, but it’s a must on Thanksgiving!

9. What’s your fave winter/Christmas-themed emoji?

I love the Christmas tree 🎄

10. What’s your favorite Christmas song?

I LOVE Forrest Frank’s new song THE PRESENT. Silent Night will always have a special place in my heart since I used to sing a solo for it in church on Christmas Eve.

11. Do you have a Christmas tree? If so how do you like to decorate it?

Of course! Our normal tree is big and fake, and its got ribbon, lights, a star, little silver flowery branch things sticking out, large white and gold flowers stuffed into the center, golden snowflakes, gold and red circle ornaments, a bunch of black chalk ornaments with the names of Jesus on them, a few silver ones with Bible verses on them, pictures of our pets and us from years past, and several random souvenir-type ornaments.

This year, though, since we don’t have as much space in our house, we got this tall and skinny tree with very bright green leaves to occupy the only free corner. It’s got lights, space ornaments, and no star, partly because our new cat would attack them, and partly because I don’t think our little tree can handle that much weight.

12. What’s one gift you would like to receive for Christmas this year?

I have a few books on my Christmas list, but I’m most excited + hopeful for The Flame Of The White Horseman by Jess K. Chavez.

13. Would you rather host a holiday party or go to someone else’s?

Probably go to someone else’s. It’s so much work trying to do our own. I love it, but its nice to have someone else do the hard stuff XD

14. What’s your favorite Christmas movie?

Elf! Or Christmas Chronicles! Or anything from Hallmark!

15. What do you like to do on New Year’s Eve?

Usually we go over to a friend’s house and watch movies, play games, and chill.

16. Have you ever stayed up til midnight?

I always try, but my mom typically vetos it. I’m going the try again this year, and pull the I’m-almost-an-adult card, unless I have to work the next day.

17. Do you believe in New Year’s Resolutions?

Not really. I never stick to them 😅

18. As of now, have you kept any of yours from 2024?

I don’t think I made any, so, no!

19. How long do you get off of school for winter break?

I might not have a Christmas break, because I’ve been procrastinating work and I’ve already missed a ton of days this semester *hides*. Perks of being homeschooled! 🥴

20. Overall, how much do you love the holiday season on a scale of 1-10 (1 being the worst part of the year 10 being absolutely amazing)?

10! 10! 10! If I could give it more, I would! I always find that I have so much more joy durning this season.

The solution for chapped lips… this magical thing called chapstick. I’m a bit addicted to it, myself, and I keep it on my person at all times.

Mind you, my family calls this a problem, and I may have given it up for Lent one year… so that tells you something…

But chapped lips are something I refuse to tolerate. LOL

So glad you did the tag!!

Ah, the magical chapstick. Ever elusive when I most need it, and over abundant when I don’t. Alas.

Oh my gosh that’s so funny 😂

Thank you for tagging me! ✨
