Howdy, friends!
I hope you all had a very merry Christmas filled with joy and peace. I will hopefully have a Christmas recap post coming out soon, if I get around to writing.
Anyways, on with the post!
Welcome to an exciting new post series, Countdown to 2025! Every day until New Years will have a new post recapping this year. I am so excited for this!
Today’s post, we’ll be taking a look at my Spotify Wrapped, and some of the songs I listened to!
My Music, Wrapped
Apparently, I listened to 30,493 minutes of music this year. Which is a ton, and I’m not quite sure how it happened. I am a very musical person, so it kind of makes sense. And I’m also in the top 11% of listeners on Spotify! April 11th was my biggest listening day, with 346 minutes. I believe that was my drive home from a snowboarding trip with my family, and I was likely blasting tunes the whole trip.
1,148 songs played this year. Honestly, I thought it would have been more.
My top song this year was UP! by Forrest Frank and Connor Price. Not a surprise at all. When I first heard this song, I didn’t love it. Buuuuut somehow it became my most played song. Probably because it helped me wake up in the morning when I drove to work. And I’m in the top 0.01% of listeners globally for this song. Absolutely wild!
The Full Leaderboard (of Songs)
- UP! by Forrest Frank and Connor Price
- NEVER GET USED TO THIS by Forrest Frank and JVKE
- Dance Her Home by Cody Johnson
- Creek Will Rise by Connor Smith
- All Night by Brothers Osborne
Okay, NEVER GET USED TO THIS definitely deserves that number two spot. Dance Her Home makes sense, too. So does All Night. But Creek Will Rise? Honestly not sure how that one got number four.
I spent 2,519 minutes listening to podcasts this year. I didn’t discover my enjoyment of podcasts until my cousin recommended one to me, which happened later in the year. So I understand the number. Still, that’s a lot of time spent listening. My top category was Religion and Spirituality. Duh. Of this category, I’m in the top 4% of listeners worldwide.
The Full Leaderboard (of Podcasts)
- Christ With Coffee On Ice (which is the one my cousin recommended)
- Keep It Real
- The JWLKRS Podcast
- The Bible Recap
Out of all these, I would say my favorite is probably The JWLKRS Podcast. I highly recommend any of their messages, and it’s been so fulfilling to listen to. Christ With Coffee On Ice really gave my faith a revival.
“January was your Wild West Beach Country phase,” says Spotify. I laughed out loud when I saw this. Why is it so true though? I listened to a lot of Alan Jackson, Cody Johnson, and Luke Combs that month.
“June was your Wanderlust Banjo Indie Christian season.” Oh, yes. I was driving home from the horse rescue I volunteer at when I first heard Josiah Queen’s song The Prodigal. Aaaaand, just like that, I became a huge fan of indie Christian music. Josiah Queen, Dan Bremnes, and Forrest Frank were on repeat.
“Surf Crush Black Gospel Christian Hip Hop” was the theme of July. What a hilarious title! Apparently, I listened to a lot of Forrest Frank, Hulvey, and Hyper Fenton (I only ever listened to one of his songs…?). I guess July was my Forrest Frank phase.
I listened to 486 artists this year. And if you couldn’t tell……. Forrest Frank was my number one artist of the year! My longest streak of listening to his songs was 35 days. I’m a top 0.5% fan, and I vibed to almost 1,800 minutes of his music.
The Full Leaderboard (of Artists)
- Forrest Frank
- Cody Johnson
- Anne Wilson
- Alan Jackson
- Luke Combs
I was super excited for this list. I knew Forrest Frank and Cody Johnson would be on it somewhere, but I had no idea for the rest of the spots on the list. Anne Wilson being my third artist totally makes sense. I almost went to one of her concerts. Alan Jackson and Luke Combs are also understandable. I’m a little surprised, but I get it.
Conclusion
That concludes the first post of Countdown to 2025! I really hope you enjoyed this peek into my listening habits. Definitely check out the podcasts and songs I mentioned!
Who was your top artist? What was your top song? Did you have any fun music phases you went through this year? Any podcasts you enjoyed?
Have a blessed day!
