In my last post, I talked about how I recently finished my first draft of what I’m hoping will be my debut novel. I’ve realized that I haven’t really explained what it’s about.

Aaaaaaand in order to do that, I needed to write a blurb. I’ve been putting this off, since many of the plot points keep changing, but I figured that I can always change the blurb. So consider this an exclusive, blog-only look at my WIP!

What do a thief and a slave have in common? Desperation.

The Seers have taken everything from Kye- first sending his father to the front lines of a war they knew he’d never come back from, then murdering his mother for a crime she didn’t commit, and finally hanging his only friend and mentor. Now living a life of thievery and bitterness in the forest outside of town, all he wants is to bring down the system that tore his family apart. But between a prophesied cruel winter, a mysterious Lorien girl who comes into his forest, and long-buried secrets from his past coming to the surface, will he be able to put aside his hate in order to save what matters most?

Eleanor sees the blessings in everything. Her mostly fair mistress. Her best friend, Sera. Her mother, always calm and steadfast. Even in her slavery, Eleanor is content. But that could all change with the coming winter. And amidst harsher working conditions due to rising levels of slave riots and the falling snow, her mother becomes ill with a ferocious fever. The cure is more elusive than expected. Will she be able to heal her mother and find peace within the chaos, or will she sink into the dark pit of despair?

As Sure As The Snow Falls

Eeeee! I’m so excited!!!!!!

This project is so dear to me, and I hope that you’ll grow to love it too! I plan to talk a lot more about it as I dive back into drafting. At the present time, I’m working on world building. It’s coming along tremendously, and I hope to be done with it very soon. Draft two is shaping up to be much different than draft one, in the best way possible!
